Each of the FIGs has a particular talent and The Nightjar’s Promise focuses on Jennifer, whose artistic abilities secure her a place among the FIGs. This is a personal tale about Jennifer’s parents, who died when she was 15 years old. With the help of her friends, Jennifer must uncover the truth behind the nightjar and her family. This is a quintessential mystery novel that delivers everything you’d expect from this genre. Author, Barbara Casey’s writing draws the reader in immediately, making this book hard to put down. What truly stands out about the book is how the author makes the bond of female friendship the true star of the story.
